Junior Academy Saturday Kids Club with PGA Professional, Shane Kaye
Our mission at the Burnham & Berrow Junior Golf Academy is to get your child out on the course enjoying games of golf as soon as possible. Attending the weekly junior coaching sessions are an excellent stepping stone to learning the game. Your child will learn the fundamentals to help them progress on their golfing journey and build a wonderful friendship with the other juniors in the class to learn the game together.

Research has shown that girls at a certain age, flourish in sports when learning in female-only environments. We want all our juniors to flourish so we are happy to support our girls in their journey by providing them with whatever they need.
Saturday and Wednesday Classes follow school term times:
7th September 2024 – 26th October
6th November 2024 – 21st December
8th January 2025 – 15th February 2025
Cost: £36 payable monthly directly to the golf club. Academy fees are still made through school holidays as the total amount has been divided over a 12-month period. The office will issue you with full payment details upon joining the academy. 2-month notice to cancel your class attendance is required.
Meeting point: At the start of every lesson, children are encouraged to putt whilst they wait for the class to start. Their coach will collect them from the smaller putting green behind the pro shop.
Equipment: If your child has clubs, then please bring them along to each session. Clubs are provided and are available to collect from the side of the pro shop before each session. When you are ready to purchase clubs for your child, their coach will be happy to help you.
What to wear: Please wear smart trousers/shorts/skirt, a polo shirt and trainers or golf shoes. Here is a link to the dress code https://www.burnhamandberrowgolfclub.co.uk/golf-dress-code/. In the winter months I would advise layering as they can always remove layers once they warm up. You will notice I look a bit like the Michelin man on occasion. We do ask for jeans not to be worn please.
Absence & poor weather: If the coach is unable to make a class, a trained volunteer will take the session if a volunteer is unavailable classes will be made up during the holidays. During poor weather lessons will usually take place indoors – subject to the availability of a private room. Should children miss a session, they may, subject to availability, attend a different junior class.
Other Important information:
All children in coaching must be members of the junior academy, working towards a handicap.
Any on-the-course sessions, children must be accompanied by an adult. During classes you are welcome to watch, subject to space in the coaching area (the coach can advise you) or you are welcome to have a drink in the bar. If your child is unable to attend, please message the coach.
We now have a junior golfer menu in the bar, so you are welcome to stop and have food after a session.
During the holidays when there is no Saturday/Wednesday coaching or even if you would like some extra golfing, there is usually a “Just play” session you can attend.
