Quantocks

Pro's Tip

“After a drive between the dunes the second shot to this long and narrow green is very testing. The safest option when the pin is on the top tier is to play for the front part of the green and face the difficulty of two-putting. The bold shot needs to be flown all the way and anything not accurate will be punished – better to miss right than left if you are to err. Walk off here with a par and you can congratulate yourself.”

Hole Description

Named after the range of hills which are clearly visible to the south west across Bridgwater bay. The Quantocks were England’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, being designated in 1956. This hole was previously played as the third hole before the first was changed. The hole was shorter before Colt moved the green back onto the plateau where it is today and opened for play in 1923
